" I had the pleasure of working with Duhig Construction Inc. on an extremely technical and steep hillside estate in Napa.  It was under intense Napa Regulatory supervision and also under viticulturist supervision.  John first started working on ripping the vineyard, which has expanded to 25 acres of very steep hillside vineyards.  The amount of rock in these vineyards is just incredible.  John's team built retaining walls everywhere and moved extra rocks to create beautiful spaces.  He created compacted boulevards and just beautiful functional vineyards.  He installed large water storage tanks, helped with the piping and many other aspects of the massive undertaking.  He worked extremely well with Napa Regulatory and was well respected by them.  He and his team are incredibly knowledgeable about drainage and has helped us re-engineer water runoff on more than one earth slide on our property following heavy rain.  Recently he built a retaining wall behind our new house on a promontory on a hill.  The concrete retaining walls (there were two) were built on 40% slope, and are ~100 feet long each.   He also carefully shaped and compacted the site for our house which is on a very high and steep setting and brought gravel and compacted roads around the house and vineyards.   He also drained and cleared out the muck from a large pond on the property, compacted it, and then helped to install a vinyl liner, which was no easy job.  His team are incredible and work on highly technical jobs that no one else would touch.  John even trenched a long power extension along a busy road for a PGE connection, organizing road safety crews according to Napa's specifications.  I travel a lot and not onsite and when John is on a job for me, I sleep at night, never worrying about the outcome which includes technical work, aesthetics, and interaction with the rigorous Napa permitting group. If I have any questions, I can call him on any time zone.  He catalogues each job with a journal of photos.   Three years later if I have a question, he is always there to remind me which conduit is which and were it goes, then backs it up with detailed photos.  I will also say the billing is clear and fair. You won’t find better talent in the region and a better personality to work with.  I highly recommend Duhig Construction for any luxury house, infrastructure job, vineyard development, and especially for any high-difficulty site work and available to talk personally with anyone who might be interested in working with his company.
